It's exhilarating to see the social media explosion at this year's conference. Connecting with colleagues online opens many possibilities in the medical profession as well as in my profession of medical librarianship. While many use twitter and Facebook to communicate with friends, in increasing numbers social media is being use to learn about developments in one's field, discover new possibilities for partnerships, and stay up to date on current happenings. Once your social network is underway, building that network strengthens your own awareness. Keep connecting!
